This roundâs 62 grain bullet looks just like any other FMJ on the outside, but with one exception: Its tip is painted green. Thatâs the sign that its lead core contains a seven-grain steel penetrator tip, which enables the bullet to reliably pierce sheet metal and other durable barriers at close-to-medium range.
This is magnetic ammo! Many ranges wonât let you bring it on their premises, as a bullet which contains steel poses a higher risk of damaging range equipment. The heavier 62 grain bullet is most accurate when fired from a 1:9â or 1:8â twist barrel, but if your AR-15âs barrel has a 1:7â twist then youâll still enjoy firing this ammo.
This American-made ammo is loaded with new production brass cases. You can see where they were heat-treated at the factory, because Winchester didnât spend time polishing the cases afterward. This Boxer-primed ammo is great for handloading too!
